Fair questions.

If yours isn't here, ask us directly.

Is DealerOffer a dealership?

No. DealerOffer is a platform that puts your car in front of a network of independent, verified motor dealers who buy cars like yours. The dealers make the offers — you choose which one, if any, to go ahead with.

Are the offers guaranteed?

Each offer is based on the information and photos you supply. If your car materially matches your description at inspection, dealers are expected to stand behind their offer.

If something significant wasn't disclosed or is substantially different — undisclosed damage, a warning light, materially different kilometres — the dealer may need to review the price. Every price change on DealerOffer is recorded with a reason, so there are no quiet adjustments.

Why do you need so many photos?

Dealers are pricing your car without standing in front of it. Clear photos give them the confidence to put their best number forward. Weak photos mean cautious offers.

Do I have to accept the highest offer?

No. You might prefer a slightly lower offer from a dealer who comes to you, or one closer to home, or one that pays faster. The choice is entirely yours — and there's no obligation to accept any offer at all.

Will dealers contact me directly?

No. That's a big part of why DealerOffer exists. You deal with one platform, not five dealerships calling you. Your contact details aren't handed out to the network — the dealer you choose gets what they need to complete the inspection and purchase, at the right stage.

Does it cost anything?

No. Getting your dealer offers is free for sellers, with no obligation to accept any of them.

What if I still owe finance?

Tell us in the finance question when you describe your car. Dealers buy cars with finance owing all the time — the payout is typically settled from the purchase amount at handover. Being upfront about it keeps the process smooth.

What happens if my car has damage?

Tell us. Honestly described damage gets priced into the offers up front — which is exactly what you want. Damage that surfaces at inspection is the main reason offers get reviewed.

Can the dealer lower their offer at inspection?

Only if there's a genuine, material discrepancy between your description and the car — undisclosed damage, an undisclosed mechanical issue, materially different kilometres, or a history issue. A price can't just quietly change: any adjustment is logged with a structured reason, and we track every dealer's adjustment rate across the network.

How long are offers valid?

Each offer shows its own expiry on your offer page — most dealers keep an offer open for around 24 to 48 hours. If an offer expires before you decide, contact us and we'll check whether the dealer can renew it.

What happens after I request an inspection?

We confirm the inspection details with you — at your place or the dealership, depending on the offer you chose. The dealer confirms the car matches the information you supplied, then payment and handover are arranged. Many dealers pay on the day of a successful inspection.
